Friends of the Port Neches Public LibraryExecutive Board:
The Friends of the Port Neches Public Library was organized by a group of citizens interested in taking an active part in the improvement of the library facilities available to the community. They formed an organization dedicated to maintaining a friendly association of persons interested in books and libraries; encouraging donations, gifts, endowments, and bequests; taking the lead in the extension and improvement of library services and resources.
The library serves more people in all walks of life than any other institution. The Friends of the Library is well aware of the value of the library to this community. The members are interested in obtaining a better facility, finances and programs of community interest. The services of the Friends organization fit into three broad categories: fund raising, service to the community, and service to the library.
As a Friend you may be as active as you choose, using your special interests while being of service to your community.
Information on meetings of the Friends of the Library will be available at the library.
The Friends intend to continue to help the public library to maintain and improve its services by supplementing public monies with private funds and grants and by providing leadership. The Friends will also continue to take responsibility for library-based cultural activities, advocacy, and community involvement.
The Friends of the Port Neches Public Library sponsor the ongoing book and magazine sale at the Library. Proceeds go to the Friends for programs and the Building Fund. Donations of used items are appreciated.
